If when you open the Name Badge and Ticket Design or Letterhead Designer forms the slider bars for moving and resizing lines and pictures are missing or do not operate it is because of a known problem in Windows with the slider bar controls. There are two reasons for this problem, one is licensing (refer Microsoft article Q172859) the other relates to a known problem in Microsoft Access 97 (refer Microsoft article Q177908).

To fix this problem take the following steps:

1. Download the comctl32.exe program.

2. Locate the comctl32.exe program using Windows Explorer and then run it by double-clicking on it.

3. Press the Start button, select Run, enter regsvr32.exe comctl32.ocx and press OK.

4. Open Summit and see if the slider bars are now working. If they are working there is no need to take steps 5 and 6.

5. Remove Summit using  Add/Remove Software on the Control Panel

6. Reinstall Summit.
