MIE Software Support Note
After you install an MIE Software application you may see that the name, the organization, and the product ID (PID) of the registered user on your computer are replaced with those of MIE Software. This information appears in the About Microsoft Access dialog box. This can happen if the computer on which you have installed the MIE Software application is running the retail version of Microsoft Access 97 or Microsoft Office 97 Professional and the computer does not have Microsoft Office Service Release 2 (SR-2) installed before installing the MIE Software application. The default behaviour of the Microsoft Office 97 Developer Edition Setup Wizard is to overwrite older files during the installation of a run-time application. The version of Msaccess.exe installed by SR-2 is newer and therefore overwrites the version of Msaccess.exe and the user information that already exists on your computer. This is a known problem at Microsoft. Details of workarounds can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q182/9/39.ASP . |
