How to completely re-install Summit

Applies To: Summit Version 3, Summit Version 4, Summit Light, Summit Professional

When other Windows, Windows 95 and Windows 98 software applications are installed, removed or modified the process used  can modify and delete files required by Summit. To get Summit working correctly you must first delete the files which may have been modified and then reinstall Summit.

1    Delete suspect files

Delete the following files (don't worry if they are missing). They will all be reinstalled when you reinstall Summit. Make sure no-one is using Summit before you do this.

MSAJU200.DLL APPLICATION (SUMMIT, SUMMIT4, SUMMITL  OR SUMMITP Directory)
MSAOLE20.DLL APPLICATION (SUMMIT, SUMMIT4, SUMMITL  OR SUMMITP Directory)
MSARN200.EXE APPLICATION (SUMMIT, SUMMIT4, SUMMITL  OR SUMMITP Directory)
MSJETERR.DLL WINDOWS\SYSTEM

Also delete all .ldb files.

2    Reinstall Summit

Reinstall Summit from the original installation disks or CD. Apply the latest upgrade disk or database after reinstalling.
